The Saddleback Clownfish continues to be one of the more popular marine fish when it comes to the aquarium trade. The scientific name of the fish is Aquacultured Amphiprion polymnus. It has been observed that this tank-raised species has a mortality rate lower than that of its wild-caught specimens. There are various benefits of having the aquacultured Saddleback Clownfish in your tank compared to wild-harvested species.
The Saddleback Clownfish is one of the easiest fish to breed in an aquarium. As it is an omnivorous fish, you can feed it any kind of food. The Saddleback Clownfish can be fed with top-quality marine flake food, including both meaty and vegetable food. The fish can grow up to five Inches; therefore, it should be kept in a tank with at least 10 gallons of water. You can also keep a smaller tank as a breeding tank. The tank must have caves and hiding places among a lot of corals and live rocks.
The Saddleback Clownfish does quite well inside a reef tank and is known to be absolutely reef safe. This species has an orangish, brownish tone; it is a very hardy fish that can easily host with anemones. The Saddleback Clownfish requires moderate care and therefore is good for beginner aquarists.
